Jump Start Child Development Center

The YMCA Jump Start Child Care Program is a full service center for teen parents and their children. We provide a safe, caring and positive environment for children 6-weeks to 2-years old.

This program is for children whose parents are currently enrolled and attending classes through the Rapid City Area Schools District.

The YMCA Jump Start Child Care is a full service center for teen parents and their children. We provide a safe, caring and positive environment for children 6 weeks to 4 years old, offering support to strengthen the family unit.

The most important people in a child’s life are their parents. When parents are bettering their lives, they are helping their child to a better life.

Our caring and qualified staff serve as role models to both parents and children. We are more than just a babysitting service. Our goal is to help parents and their children develop physically, intellectually, socially and emotionally to their fullest potential. We provide a support network for teen parents.

This program exists to help students with children finish high school. Because we support parents attending school, we are open Monday-Friday from 7:30am-4:00pm on the days that the Rapid City School District is in session.

We also follow the school district’s early dismissal and late start schedules.
