#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration.
Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving.

"This is a great way to start the season of giving."

Roger Gallimore, YMCA Executive Director

The YMCA of Rapid City has joined #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide. Occurring this year on November 27, #GivingTuesday is a social media driven day held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving (in the US) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday to kick off the holiday giving season and inspire people to collaborate in improving their local communities and to give back in impactful ways to the charities and causes they support.
The vision of the YMCA is to strengthen our community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. As part of the #GivingTuesday campaign, the YMCA encourages giving to provide Y memberships for kids from disadvantaged backgrounds.  By giving to the YMCA, donors will be helping kids learn to swim, make friends at Y camp, experience social learning in childcare, build character in youth sports, have a safe place to go afterschool, strengthen academic achievement and so much more.
