After School Program Aides

Seeking highly motivated people to assist in elementary after school programs for the 2022-2023 school year. The after school program aide is responsible for providing a safe program for children after school; implementing planned activities; connecting with children and their parents; and maintaining a positive environment that enhances the child’s social and physical development. This is a part time position with a possibility of full time hours due to school schedules.

Hours for this position are Monday-Friday, 2:30-6 pm.  Approximately 17.5 hours a week.   If full time was offered hours would be between 7:30 – 6pm.

Pay - $13.00 per hour DOE

Must be at least 16 years old

 

After School Site Coordinator

We are seeking highly organized and motivated individuals to plan and implement a variety of activities in an after school setting for elementary age children for the upcoming 2022-2023 school year. The Kidstop Site Coordinator is responsible for maintaining a safe and positive environment for children after school, onsite of an elementary school; connecting with children and their parents; supervising staff; and maintaining a good working relationship with school personnel.

Hours are Monday-Friday from 2:00-6 pm. The Kidstop Site Coordinator also receives 5 hours of additional time for planning, administrative work and staff meetings each week. Total of 25 hours a week. This is a part time position with a possibility of full time hours due to school schedules.

 

Pay - $15.00 per hour DOE

 

Aquatics Director

Here is your chance to find your purpose while working with a fun and amazing team. The Aquatic Director is responsible to the Operations Director for excellence in the development, promotion, organization, supervision, and evaluation of YMCA aquatic activities and programs.  

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES:

  1. Develop, promote, conduct, supervise and evaluate aquatic instruction classes and other innovative aquatic programs that will result in positive character development, improved skills, great relationships, and fun for families, youth, seniors, teens, and adults.
  2. Develop, promote, conduct, supervise and evaluate aquatic activities and programs that will foster and maintain enthusiasm and support for YMCA aquatics and meeting the vision of strengthening the community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
  3. Promote new participants and retaining existing participants in such a way that budget projections are met or exceeded.
  4. Recruit the finest of instructors, and lifeguards to serve as positive role models and leaders of YMCA aquatic programs.
  5. Develop, conduct, and ensure training of all YMCA aquatic volunteers and staff with an emphasis on upholding YMCA standards of excellence.
  6. Conduct supervision of YMCA aquatic volunteers and staff such that all YMCA aquatic volunteers and staff understand and successfully achieve their performance objectives.
  7. Conduct regularly scheduled aquatic lifeguard in-service trainings to ensure aquatics staff are practicing individual and team-based emergency response skills
  8. Ensure the proper maintenance of equipment 
  9. Ensure that all aquatic facilities are in compliance with applicable local, state, and federal codes.
  10. Ensure that pool maintenance and play are conducted in such a way that prevents any risk of injury or damage.
  11. Ensure that the entire aquatic operation is in compliance with YMCA risk management policies such that all participants, volunteers and staff are safe.
  12. Recruit and facilitate an association-wide safety management committee charged with providing direction for YMCA safe practices.
  13. Develop in coordination with the safety committee initiatives, practices, communication and training designed to communicate safe practices, evaluate incidences to determine improved practices and design and conduct initiatives to promote and maintain a safe environment.
  14. Serve as point of contact with the insurance company consultant to conduct site visits and utilize key resources.
  15. Conduct the entire aquatic operation in such a way that serves to strengthen community relationships.
  16. Ensure that the aquatic information that is posted on the YMCA web site and online registration is updated each session with accurate information
  17. Ensure that accurate information is always available for all inquiries.
  18. Responds to all personal inquiries within 24hours.
  19. Manage and monitor income and expenses
  20. Establish and maintain accurate records of program registration.

Salary $45,000 + DOE

 

Building Cleanliness Technician

Building Cleanliness Technician

We are seeking highly organized and motivated individuals who take great pride in a job well done.  A team player who can work independently with minimal supervision.  Ensure that a regular and thorough cleaning schedule is kept. This ensures that high cleanliness standards are met throughout the YMCA Facility.  This team member will receive a free YMCA membership, cell phone discounts, and a great retirement plan. 

Performance Objectives:

  • Maintain full compliance with YMCA and OSHA safety policies and practices.
  • Ensure safety and security in such a way that minimizes risk to self, co-workers and members as evidenced by the number of claims.
  • Ensure the proper maintenance and use of equipment, supplies, and materials such that use is safe and replacement costs are minimal.
  • Complete assigned projects in such a way that program leaders are documented daily to be satisfied. This includes making sure floors shine, carpets are spotless, tile is completely sanitary and, in short, making sure every child’s mother would be proud of the YMCA building.
  • Ensure that the building is well maintained by reporting daily to the Facilities Director all items requiring maintenance.

Salary: $14.00 per hour

Hours: Monday - Saturday  Any hours. Can be flexible 

 

Bus Driver

Category: Child Care

Job Type: Seasonal

Bus Driver is responsible for providing safe transportation to and /or from school and on field trips. This person must meet qualifications needed for South Dakota State DOT licensing, have a valid driver’s license for the vehicle they are driving, have a driving record that is acceptable to the YMCA’s insurance, and submit to pre-employment/random drug testing as dictated by the Department of Transportation Regulations.

Hours for this position are Monday-Friday. Hours are 2:00 pm - 4:00pm. 10 hours per week. 

$15 to $17 per hour depending on certifications 

 

Facilities Attendant - Part Time or Full Time

Lifeguard/Swim Instructor Part-Time

Applicant must be certified, or currently enrolled in the certification course, in YMCA or American Red Cross Lifeguard. Lifeguard duties will include, but are not limited to, prevention, scanning, educating members on safe swimming practices, enforcing rules, performing necessary rescues and first aid care, and cleaning. We hold a high standard on professionalism and team work. Applicants must be willing to train for and take certification courses to teach YMCA swim lessons. Instructors must be highly motivate, safety conscious, able to follow policies and standards, teach to the standards and ensure their students are safe and having fun.

 

Office Assistant/Receptionist

General Function: The Office Assistant is responsible for providing friendly, professional, and extraordinary customer service to all members, potential members and visitors who use the YMCA. This person is also responsible for excellence in efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness with daily deposits, maintaining scheduling calendar, and record keeping. The Office Assistant person will be responsible for providing support to the Executive Director as well as the Business Office Staff.  This person will also be responsible for coving the reception desk as needed.

Performance Objectives:

  1. Conduct receipting practices with the highest of integrity, ensuring that all receipting is in accordance with that which is established by the YMCA business office
  2. Administrative duties as assigned.
  3. Answer the phone in a friendly, professional manner within three rings, transfer calls, and deliver phone messages promptly.
  4. Develop and maintain positive relations with parents & members
  5. Ensure that accurate information is always available for all inquiries.
  6. Responds to all inquiries within the same day it is received.
  7. Maintain accuracy in data entry information
