After School Program Aides

Seeking highly motivated people to assist in elementary after school programs for the 2020-2021 school year. The after school program aide is responsible for providing a safe program for children after school; implementing planned activities; connecting with children and their parents; and maintaining a positive environment that enhances the child’s social and physical development. This is a part time position with a possibility of full time hours due to school schedules.

Hours for this position are Monday-Friday, 2:30-6 pm.  Approximately 17.5 hours a week.   If full time was offered hours would be between 7:30 – 6pm.

Pay - $11.00 per hour

 

After School Site Coordinator

We are seeking highly organized and motivated individuals to plan and implement a variety of activities in an after school setting for elementary age children for the upcoming 2021-2022 school year. The Kidstop Site Coordinator is responsible for maintaining a safe and positive environment for children after school, onsite of an elementary school; connecting with children and their parents; supervising staff; and maintaining a good working relationship with school personnel.

Hours are Monday-Friday from 2:00-6 pm. The Kidstop Site Coordinator also receives 5 hours of additional time for planning, administrative work and staff meetings each week. Total of 25 hours a week. This is a part time position with a possibility of full time hours due to school schedules.

 

Pay - $13.25 to $15.00 per hour DOE

 

Afterschool Tutor

Afterschool Tutor

General Function: The Tutor Instructor is responsible to the Youth Development Director for excellence in the development, instruction, supervision, and evaluation of the Tutor Program with the Kidstop program.

Performance Objectives:

To develop a continually increasing standard of excellence as directed by the OST Associate Director in accordance with YMCA goals and policies in the following areas:

Tutor Program

  1. Conduct the Tutoring Program such that at least 90 percent of program participants rate the overall quality of the program as good or excellent.
  2. Promote new participants and retaining existing participants in such a way that budget projections are met or exceeded.
  3. Develop and maintain positive relations with participants in such a way that at least 85 percent of eligible participants are retained throughout each school year.
  4. Communicate on a regular basis with classroom teachers, principals and parents of children that are referred to by teachers for subject area assistance.
  5. Tutor students in subject areas referred by classroom teachers and assist in homework completion with students not referred by classroom teachers.
  6. Maintain accurate weekly records of what students are being tutored or assisted with homework completion. These records must be turned in weekly to the OST Associate Director.
  7. Tutor and/or assist with homework completion a minimum of 6 different students per week.
  8. The tutor will provide3 hours of tutoring per week at their designated after school site.

Fiscal Management

  1. Manage and monitor expenses in such a way that expenses meets or is below budget.
  2. Maintain accurate records.

YMCA Movement Promotion.

  1. Connect with YMCA members and program participants in such a way that contributes to YMCA membership goals.
  2. Always exhibit positive, character, such as friendliness and courtesy, that is consistent with the YMCA mission. This includes refraining from public activities that are deemed to be contrary to the YMCA mission. 
  3. Conduct, all duties in such a way that provides a fun, healthy, aesthetically-pleasing and positively interactive environment as measured by annual membership growth and retention objectives.

Whatever else that may be needed to further the YMCA movement.

 

Building Cleanliness Technician

Building Cleanliness Technician

We are seeking highly organized and motivated individuals who take great pride in a job well done.  A team player who can work independently with minimal supervision.  Ensure that a regular and thorough cleaning schedule is kept. This ensures that high cleanliness standards are met throughout the YMCA Facility.  This team member will receive a free YMCA membership, cell phone discounts, and a great retirement plan. 

Performance Objectives:

  • Maintain full compliance with YMCA and OSHA safety policies and practices.
  • Ensure safety and security in such a way that minimizes risk to self, co-workers and members as evidenced by the number of claims.
  • Ensure the proper maintenance and use of equipment, supplies, and materials such that use is safe and replacement costs are minimal.
  • Complete assigned projects in such a way that program leaders are documented daily to be satisfied. This includes making sure floors shine, carpets are spotless, tile is completely sanitary and, in short, making sure every child’s mother would be proud of the YMCA building.
  • Ensure that the building is well maintained by reporting daily to the Chief Properties Officer all items requiring maintenance.

Salary: $12 per hour

Hours: Monday - Saturday 6:00pm to 2:30am or flexible hours between 10:00pm and 11:00am depending on need

 

 

Bus Driver

Job Type: Part-Time

Bus Driver is responsible for providing safe transportation to and /or from school and on field trips. This person must meet qualifications needed for South Dakota State DOT licensing, have a valid driver’s license for the vehicle they are driving, have a driving record that is acceptable to the YMCA’s insurance, and submit to pre-employment/random drug testing as dictated by the Department of Transportation Regulations.

Hours for this position are Monday-Friday. Hours are 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm.

$15 to $17 per hour depending on certifications 

 

Facilities Attendant - Full Time & Part Time

Food Service Assistant

YMCA of Rapid City Food Service Assistant

Reports to: Food Service Associate Director

Hourly Wage: $11 hour Full Time

General Expectations: The Food Service Assistant is responsible for maintaining excellence in the food service department. This position reports directly to the Food Service Associate Director. This person will be cross trained in various areas of our kitchen and meal preparation. Compliance with the CACFP (Child and Adult Care Food Program) and HEPA (Healthy Eating Physical Activity) standards will be followed.

Performance Objectives: To develop a continually increasing standard of excellence as directed by the Food Service Director in accordance with YMCA goals and policies in the following areas:

Health and Safety:

  1. Maintain cleanliness and room appearance such that at least 90% of guests agree that it is good or excellent
  2. Ensure that all state and local codes are being enforced in the kitchen such that a rating of 95% is achieved from the state inspection
  3. Maintain the quality and quantity of cleaning supplies and equipment needed

Food Preparation:

  1. Food must be prepared in such a way that 95% of the patrons agree that is good or excellent
  2. Assist with planning and implementation of healthy menus at least one week in advance
  3. Assist with planning and implementation of healthy menus for the current day or week
  4. Ensure that supplies are ordered and/or received in a timely manner so the menus can be carried out
  5. Assist in preparing snacks, lunches, and drinks for committee meetings upon request by the directors

Guest Services:

  1. Create a pleasant, friendly environment for guests, staff, and community members patronizing the YMCA.
  2. Conduct yourself in a professional manner such that 90% of guests will rate the overall quality of food service as good or excellent

Record Keeping:

  1. Assist in maintaining accurate daily records for state, federal or other reports.
  2. Accurately record all purchases made through the kitchen and submit receipts

Whatever else that may be needed to further YMCA goals.

Orientation Training: Must be completed by all YMCA staff within 60 days of start date, unless supervisory approval is given for an extension due to unavailability of training or extenuating circumstances. Initial and annual wage adjustments are subject to meeting and maintaining adequate standards.

Note: all persons interested in being a member of the YMCA staff must agree to be right on target with DART.

Lifeguard/Swim Instructor Part-Time

Applicant must be certified, or currently enrolled in the certification course, in YMCA or American Red Cross Lifeguard. Lifeguard duties will include, but are not limited to, prevention, scanning, educating members on safe swimming practices, enforcing rules, performing necessary rescues and first aid care, and cleaning. We hold a high standard on professionalism and team work. Applicants must be willing to train for and take certification courses to teach YMCA swim lessons. Instructors must be highly motivate, safety conscious, able to follow policies and standards, teach to the standards and ensure their students are safe and having fun.

 

North Teen Center Site Aide

Provide a safe program for teen's after school at our North Teen Center afterschool program, located across from North Middle School.  The Site Aide is responsible for helping to implement programs, planned activities, connecting with teens and their parents, and maintaining a positive environment.

Expectations:

  • Maintain a positive, safe environment: be comfortable enforcing rules and discipline; engage teens regularly with an approach to coaching them to be their best selves, know their names; foster an environment of respect for staff and property, promoting caring for all in the center. 
  • Work with the Site Coordinator to lead daily programming and activities: areas of interest include arts & crafts, science, music, gym games, cooking, etc.

Senior Member Experience Director

The YMCA of Rapid City is currently seeking a highly organized, energetic, and team-oriented senior director primarily responsible for a $2.1 million dollar membership, aquatics and wellness operation. The Senior Director will drive the member experience to move members from casual to connected to committed increasing membership and program retention.

Under the guidance and direction of the Executive Director, the Senior Director is responsible for building membership and wellness teams to best deliver a first-class membership experience.

Position responsibilities include directing all aspects of membership including:

  • Analyzing membership data and statistics to identify trends and make proactive decisions to drive membership
  • Recruiting of new members and retention of existing members through building "value proposition"
  • Strategic planning and implementation of new practices and procedures for achieving strategic membership and wellness goals
  • Building and leading a cohesive membership, aquatics and wellness team
  • Developing and growing community partnerships. Analyzing community demographics to provide innovative programming that serves the community and identifing local marketing opportunities unique to the area.
  • Coordinating all marketing and PR efforts with marketing staff and the Executive Director.

Position Responsibilities Related To Wellness Include:

  • Delivering a quality wellness experience for members by analyzing trends, assist in planning and creating new and innovative adult, youth and family programs that meet the needs of the community and the priority objectives and strategic plan.
  • Researching and implementing quality fitness and group exercise programs that build member retention and provide member satisfaction
  • Working closely with the Executive Director to deliver association-wide initiatives
  • Assisting in outreach in the local community; and mission advancement of the YMCA of Rapid City by initiating expansion in immediate plans to open a new facility.

This exempt position supervises the Membership Director, the Aguatics Director, and the Wellness Director. Other general duties include working as a member of the Y leadership team; developing and maintaining a culture of excellence; fiscal management, mission-related activities including fundraising and increasing awareness; and assisting with special events and projects as assigned.

Strong candidates will have proven skills in staff leadership and supervision; membership, aquatics and wellness program development and delivery; budget management; and relationship building. Other qualifications include strong organizational skills and excellent oral and written communication. This leadership position works interdependently with a high-performing team, under general direction, and is expected to determine how best to accomplish tasks within the guidelines of association strategic plans.
