Branch Manager - Liberty Center Box Elder

Description:

The Branch Director – Liberty Center Box Elder will oversee total operations of this facility and will have the opportunity to create the vision and direction of this partnership-driven YMCA facility for years to come.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES:

To maintain a standard of excellence in accounting practices as directed by the business manager in accordance with YMCA goals and policies in the following key result areas: 

  1. Directs the financial development actives of the branch
  2. Represent, promote, and develop the YMCA in the local community while creating positive working relationships with other organizations, businesses, community agencies, and government entities.
  3. Oversees hiring, training, development, and supervision of staff.
  4. Sets staff schedules to ensure proper coverage of each location within the facility.
  5. Develops, monitors, and manages the branch operating budget and meets or exceeds budget targets.
  6. Directs branch strategic planning efforts and develops annual operating plan for the branch.
  7. Fosters a climate of innovation to develop member-focused programs which support the Y mission and goals.
  8. Work with leadership at Ellsworth Airforce Base and Local Partners to ensure seamless operation and coordination of events that meet the needs of all partners.
  9. Manage master calendar of events, rentals, and facility reservations.
  10. Ensures safety and maintenance of Y property and equipment.
  11. Directs branch marketing and communication efforts to drive membership growth and retention.
  12. Maintain a current and detailed procedures manual of specific duties, such that the manual is reviewed and updated at least twice each year.
  13. Conduct supervision of all staff such that all understand and successfully achieve their performance objectives.
  14. Conduct formal and informal evaluations of YMCA staff, such that evaluations result in achievement of their performance objectives.
  15. Ensure that personnel records for each volunteer and staff person are complete, accurate and up to date.
  16. Ensure the proper maintenance of equipment in such a way that minimizes repairs and/or replacement costs.
  17. Ensure that all areas in public view and all storage areas are neat and clean.
  18. Ensure that the facility is in compliance with applicable local, state, and federal codes.
  19. Ensure that the entire operation complies with YMCA risk management policies, such that all participants, volunteers and staff are safe.
  20. Manage and monitor income and expenses
  21. Establish and maintain a secure inventory of supplies that minimizes loss or disappearance.
  22. Serves as a member of the YMCA leadership team and support overall objectives of the YMCA of Rapid City.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services, social services, recreation/hospitality, management, business or equivalent experience.
  • Five or more years of management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency.
  • Ability to direct total operations through volunteer development, supervision of staff, development and monitoring of branch budget, marketing and public relations, and program development.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
  • Proven track record of developing authentic relationships with others.
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community, government, and business stakeholders.
