Office Assistant/Receptionist

Description:

Office Assistant / Receptionist

General Function: The Office Assistant is responsible for providing friendly, professional, and extraordinary customer service to all members, potential members and visitors who use the YMCA. This person is also responsible for excellence in efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness with daily deposits, maintaining scheduling calendar, and record keeping. The Office Assistant person will be responsible for providing support to the Executive Director as well as the Business Office Staff.  This person will also be responsible for coving the reception desk as needed.

Performance Objectives:

  1. Conduct receipting practices with the highest of integrity, ensuring that all receipting is in accordance with that which is established by the YMCA business office
  2. Administrative duties as assigned.
  3. Answer the phone in a friendly, professional manner within three rings, transfer calls, and deliver phone messages promptly.
  4. Develop and maintain positive relations with parents & members
  5. Ensure that accurate information is always available for all inquiries.
  6. Responds to all inquiries within the same day it is received.
  7. Maintain accuracy in data entry information

Salary - $12.00 per hour DOE

Job Type: Part-time

Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 12:00pm

Requirements:

This person must:

  • Have an associate degree or 3 years of related field experience.
  • Be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
  • Have a history of excellence in achieving qualitative and quantitative growth
  • Be passionate about the YMCA mission and vision and must personally advocate and demonstrate the core values of honesty, respect, responsibility and caring.
  • Demonstrate solid leadership as demonstrated by a high level of loyalty and respect among those this person leads.
  • Maintain a positive and uplifting attitude while juggling many tasks.
  • Have a high degree of written and oral communications skills along with some accounting and computer skills.
  • Have CPR and First aid certification prior to or within 60 days of hire.
