Wellness Associate

Under the guidance of the Wellness Director, the Wellness Associate is responsible for maintaining a clean and organized fitness and wellness center.  The Associate is responsible for guiding members through YMCA Wellness programs. They need to be aware of the physical, mental and spiritual state of the participant and assist them in making healthy lifestyle changes. The role of the Associate is to assist members through this process by providing personalized attention, support, education and motivation. They will help members to reach their wellness needs and goals through personalized attention, support, education and motivation.

Saturday 7:00am to 3:00pm / Part-Time shifts available

$11.00 per hour

This person must:

  • Be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or actively pursuing an equivalent.
  • Have an outgoing and enthusiastic personality.
  • Must have excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Have knowledge in health and fitness principles.
  • Be able to meet the following physical requirements including, but are not limited to, sitting, and standing, climbing, bending and lifting 50lbs.
  • Be a YMCA Certified Personal Trainer or must acquire the training within 3 months of employment.
  • Have the ability to personal train all age groups.
  • Have the ability to personal train all different physical abilities.
  • Demonstrate friendliness and tact while maintaining safety.
  • Have knowledge and experience in safety prevention and procedures.
  • Be passionate about the YMCA mission and vision and must personally advocate and demonstrate the core values of honesty, respect, responsibility and caring.
  • Have CPR and First aid certification prior to or within 60 days of hire.
