Child Care Receptionist

General Function: The Family Services Business Assistant is responsible to the Family Services Business Manager/Family Services Director for providing friendly, professional and extraordinary customer service to all members, potential members and visitors who use the YMCA. This person is also responsible for excellence in efficiency, accuracy and timeliness with program accounts receivable.  Hours: Monday thru Friday 2pm-6pm. 20 hours per week.

Performance Objectives:
To develop a continually increasing standard of excellence as directed by the Family Services Business Manager/Family Services Director in accordance with YMCA goals and policies in the following areas:
1. Fiscal Management
A. Conduct receipting practices with the highest of integrity, ensuring that all receipting is in accordance with that which is established by the YMCA business office.
B. Maintain a secure inventory of supplies that results in no loss or disappearance.

2. Record Keeping
A. Maintain accuracy in data entry information
B. Accurately complete an incident/accident report for each incident/accident and submit and report it in accordance with staff training.
C. Assist in maintaining child information files to be in accordance with YMCA policies and State Licensing regulations.

Community Relations
A. Answer the phone in a friendly, professional manner within three rings, transfer calls, and deliver phone messages promptly.
B. Develop and maintain positive relations with parents in such a way that at least 90% percent of eligible participants are retained throughout each year and at least 90% percent of eligible participants return the following year.
C. Ensure that accurate information is always available for all inquiries.
D. Responds to all personal inquiries within the same day it is received.


YMCA Membership


Qualifications: This person must:
 Have an associate degree or 3 years of related field experience.
 Be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
 Have a history of excellence in achieving qualitative and quantitative growth in programs and participants.
 Be passionate about the YMCA mission and vision and must personally advocate and demonstrate the core values of honesty, respect, responsibility and caring.
 Demonstrate solid leadership as demonstrated by a high level of loyalty and respect among those this person leads.
 Have a high degree of written and oral communications skills along with some accounting and computer skills.
 Have CPR and First aid certification prior to or within 60 days of hire.
