The YMCA is a not-for-profit charitable organization with a mission to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind and body for all. A lot of volunteers and contributors for many generations have given a great deal of their time, money and effort to make the YMCA of Rapid City a strong organization.

Today over 1000 volunteers help the YMCA meet it's mission and serve the needs of the community. There are several areas where one may choose to volunteer. Listed below are some of the areas:

If you are interested in joining the team, please fill out a Volunteer Application and bring it into the YMCA.

There are current opportunities for volunteers in the group exercise area. A water aerobic instructor is needed for a water aerobics class on Mondays from 6:00-7:00am. Individuals should be motivated and full of energy. Experience is preferred, training will be provided.

YMCA Child Care offers quality programs to help individuals grow perspnally, learn values, improve personal and family relationships, appreciate diversity, become bettter leaders, and have fun.

The aquatics center features a warm water pool, 8 lane lap pool and 4 lane pool. Programs include swim lessons, arthritis relief classes, water exercise, family swim, open/lap swim, lifeguard training and special needs swim.

YMCA sports incorporate sportsmanship, fair play and fun.
