The YMCA of Rapid City is committed to making quality programs and facilities available to all. We strive to keep youth membership and program fees reasonable by subsidizing some of the real costs. Even so, we know that some families will need financial assistance or sponsorships to participate in YMCA programming. Through these sponsorships, children in our community are provided with opportunities to become involved in youth sports, swimming lessons, summer camps, after-school and teen programs . . . opportunities that they would not otherwise have. More importantly, through each of these programs, the YMCA of Rapid City strives to teach and reinforce the values of respect, responsibility, caring and honesty.
Through the YMCA Kids Campaign, we provide financial assistance to ensure YMCA programs are always available to the kids and families who need them most. The YMCA has a policy of never turning away anyone for financial reasons and this is why the YMCA Kids Campaign is so vital to the continuation of providing a safe, supervised and structured setting for the children and teens of our community.
For the YMCA to continue our mission of providing opportunities for the children of our community to take part in programming and have a safe place to grow spiritually, mentally and physically requires financial support. YMCA Kids Campaign and the United Way, along with various grants, all go to support this cause.
